Liability was contested from the outset and the case was settled only after extensive investigation and employment of accident reconstruction experts to support the client's case.
- Eddie and Frances Knox handled an accident for a mother and her son who were hit head on by a defendant driver who claimed sudden incapacitation, obtaining settlements in the amount of $410,000 for the two. Liability was vigorously denied.
- Eddie and Frances Knox tried a case against a pest control vehicle in Union County that crossed the center line and injured our elderly client, resulting in a jury verdict of $940,000.
- Eddie Knox handled a trial against a Charlotte cab driver that ran a red light, killing his client. Judgment was obtained for $7 million.
- Frances Knox and Lisa Godfrey successfully settled a case out of court for $335,000 for an auto accident victim severally injured in a head-on collision by a driver eluding arrest.
- Eddie and Frances Knox tried a case in Lincoln County involving a client hit head-on by a tractor-trailer pulling a mobile home. After a two-week trial and negotiations through the Court of Appeals, the case settled for $400,000.
